It was a great experience, spending my Christmas time with those kids. I have enjoyed a lot with all the children as well as volunteers. I am looking forward for more such experiences.
You are just one click away from inspiring hundreds of people to follow the path of social service. We hope you had a wonderful experience in doing good for others, sharing that can multiply the smiles that you spread.
It was a great experience, spending my Christmas time with those kids. I have enjoyed a lot with all the children as well as volunteers. I am looking forward for more such experiences.
I've been actively contributing to various NGOs for the past 3 years mostly those targeting 'Education of young kids'. But I've never participated in events where you get to meet the kids. I always wanted to do that. As soon as I came to know of this event I immediately decided to go this time. On the morning of Christmas, I was a bit worried - Will I be able to make the kids comfortable around me? Will they participate actively in the events that the organisers had planned? As soon as I entered Chavadi, I realised it was quite the opposite. The kids made me feel comfortable around them. It was good seeing them prepare the sandwiches with smiley faces made of Cadbury gems. It felt great seeing the kids dance to all songs with Santa. And most importantly, seeing the enthusiasm among all the volunteers who had turned up to make the day special made me realise that there is a good count of like minded people who want to make things better and who care.
Experience:- I am really happy to be there for the kids.
1.)I do feel that we should have been given more time to communicate, or know there part of story.. because they also want someone to listen.. as I have seen from my past experience.
2.) We should have done it on non Holiday days, so that there would be less people and we could interact with kids more.
3). It is not a experience but a feed back, that if you are planning something, do plan it on regular basis like every weekend, where we just visit them and talk with them. It help to build up a confidance when you ask them to read or grow up in learning.
Xmas day at chavadi boys ashram / orphanage turned out of nothing was i expected.
Seeing kids with the lovely smile, the excitement of getting things (which might be small) but those emotions were unparallel.
No matter how much you do things for yourself and friends but seeing an excitement in a kid's eye for new toys / pencils / cake supercedes everything. This is what ItsOkhay gave to me on Christmas day.
ItsOkhay turned out to be Santa not only for kids but for us as well.
Thank you so much for this opportunity to end this year on such a positive note.
Millions and millions of dollars are never enough to buy a kids smile. It’s just priceless. It was such a beautiful experience sharing happiness and my Christmas with these little munchkins at Chavadi ashram. Had lots of fun.
As someone wise once said, “I always wondered why somebody doesn’t do something about that. Then I realized I was somebody.” The interaction with the Chavadi orphanage kids was the moment when I stopped being ‘somebody’. It was a touching experience to be a part of this itsohkay initiative. An event where we actually reach out to the children in reach, indulged with them in activities and even decorated their place. It was a time well spent and hopefully we brought some happiness in lives of these children. I wish Itsohkay many more such successful events.
My experience was amazing. Being a part of such events makes you humble when you realise kids with such minimum amenities are so grateful and happy. I am glad I was able to be part of it and would love to contribute more towards such events and orphanages.
When I attended the event, I legit felt good. How our little efforts combined made children happy was the best part. Getting their home diwali ready, kids' joy had no bounds. I really felt happy that I could become a part of it! Keep rolling these events, more power to itsOhKay team! 😋
Diwali celebration at pitampura spot with Itsokhay
This was first time when we had a collaboration with Itsokhay an NGO which is working for people welfare. They bring all the stuff required for our event like dia decoration material, books for children, eatable etc.
Edushala at pitampura spot on 20th October 2019 was such a great event as we had more than 90 students, initially we gave respect to our country by singing National Anthem after that we started our event with Dia decorations competition 🎇🎇
Itsokhay founder pragati divided the children in 10 groups with 9 children in each and with one group leader after that we distributed all the materials to the children which is required for dia decoration. It was a lovely moment by seeing all the children busy in their art 🎨🎨🎨
We distributed prizes.....then some children show their talent by dancing and singing. 💃 💃 💃
After that we distributed some stationary, sweet and snacks among children 🎉🎉🎉
Few live for themselves, few live for others, very few live with others and make it livable for others... Here with itsohkay we were just making small efforts to share brightness and happiness to these stars to outshine with their outmost brightness... That's what reall Christmas is meant for... Love your loved ones and love stronger to those who are just waiting to be loved.. 🥰
